Bring on a New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Ok, so I know I’m a few days late, but having a fresh year ahead feels pretty exciting. I’m definitely a goal-oriented person (checking tasks off a list=JOY!), so setting some growth goals for the year was a must-do.

I thought I’d share a few of my goals for the year with you all, and in return, I’d love to hear some of your own! Please feel free to share in the comments below. 🙂  Let’s be vulnerable together!

Nicole’s 2017 Goals

  1. Be more accepting and open to all types of people

This one feels shallow to type out, and it’s probably my most vulnerable goal to share. The Lord has been convicting me lately to get out of my comfort zone and love on people who are different than my “typical crowd.” I want to grow in loving as Jesus loves, no matter what hobbies, interests, or stereotypes someone has.

2. Launch a church with a team and full support

As you may know, Brady and I will be church planting along with Brady’s brother and sister-in-law in the Delano neighborhood this year. We are SO EXCITED about the plans God has, and we know they are beyond what we can imagine. The four of us will be working hard in the next few months to build a core team of people who are passionate about the vision of this church along with financial and prayer support to help the church function over the next 3 years. I have full faith that God is going to provide these things and I am so thankful to experience His faithfulness in this way!

3. Pray daily for my husband and our marriage

Prayer is something I’ve been challenged by the Holy Spirit to grow in over the past few years. I love this unseen weapon we have against the enemy and the fact that we have a God who actually LISTENS to us. That blows me away! This year, I want to commit to praying for Brady daily. I want to praise God for the gift he has given me through him, for his spiritual walk, and for his well-being. I also want to pray for our marriage. That the Lord will fight for us and guard us against the enemy, and use our relationship to bring Him glory.

4. Build this blog and use it to minister to women

I have found a love for blogging, writing, and encouraging women as they seek to honor God while living the normal, day-to-day life. I have lots of ideas swimming in my head of how to make this blog more consistent and resources I can provide for you. I am excited about the potential of encouraging women I don’t even know because of the amazing world wide web. I am praying that God will be in my words that I write an that the content will be of value to those who decide to follow me on this journey. If that’s you, thank you so much!! You have no idea how much you reading these words means to me. 🙂

So, there they are. With a little hard work and a lot of Jesus, I totally see these dreams and goals surpassing what I’m envisioning. God is good like that. 🙂

Question of the day:

What is one goal you have for the new year?
