Friday Faves Part 6

Happy FriYAY friends! I hope you all had wonderful weeks and are ready for a nice, somewhat relaxing weekend. Our weekend will be a little different than normal because Brady is going out of town today. It will be my first night at home without him, which I’m not super excited about, but I will try to make the most of it with a chick flick and face mask or something, haha.

Anyways, I haven’t done a Friday Faves post for far too long! Here are a few things that have been making me feel extra blessed and joyful lately. Feel free to play along and share your faves in the comments below! 🙂

1. Experimenting with Watercolor

Guys, I am not an artist. But I love being creative and trying new things! I bought some watercolor tools with my monthly spending money (Dave Ramsey budget going on over here) and I’d love to grow some skills! I’ve already learned that it’s harder than it looks, but everything gets better with some practice. We will see how it goes!

2. Youth Horizons’ Sun Run

I have become a mentor through Youth Horizons here in Wichita and have loved the opportunity to get to know this sweet girl, Emma! We got to participate in their yearly Sun Run and had an awesome time! If you’re interested in mentoring, please give me a shout and I’d love to give you more info!

3. Spring in Kansas

In between the rain showers, Kansas has been absolutely beautiful lately! I was out on a run the other day and just had to stop and take in this view. I used to find Kansas to be ugly and boring (hello teenage years), but I’ve grown to appreciate the fields and blue skies!

4. 1st Annual District Church Easter Egg Hunt

So clearly this was a couple of weeks back, but we had our first community wide event for the area of Delano and it was amazing! We had no clue what to expect, but ended up having a couple hundred people show up to find Easter eggs and to enter some raffle drawings. We hid 1,000 eggs and they were literally all found within 3 minutes, haha! We absolutely loved getting to meet some of the people in our community and left feeling encouraged and blessed by the new faces and by the servants who helped out from our launch team. God was so sweet to us through this event!

5. New Podcasts!

I love listening to podcasts when I’m driving, working out, cooking, doing dishes, etc. So finding new podcasts is always a win! These have been my two newest favorites and I highly recommend them! Jenna Kutcher on the Goal Digger Podcast is sweet and sassy and you feel like she’s your new best friend. She has awesome business advice for entrepreneurs, loves Jesus, and is so fun to listen to! Jamie Ivey interviews various women on The Happy Hour who have awesome stories of faith to share. You feel like you’re sitting down with a couple of friends, coffee in hand, talking about life. It’s great!

Ok, now it’s your turn! Please share something that has left you feeling blessed lately in the comments below. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Faves Part 5

Happy weekend everyone! 😊 We made it!

We had a busy week and I’m so ready for some quality time with Brady and the rest of his family this weekend. We are headed up to Junction City here in a bit to get lots of playtime with our nieces and nephew and some great laughs, food, and convo with the rest of our people. I can’t wait!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve done Friday Faves, but there are some things I want to share so that you don’t miss out on them!
1. Spring Decorations at Target

Target has done it again! I went a little crazy in their dollar section (is that what it’s called?). So many fun and affordable things to put brighten up your house! Spring fever is strong over here. Get to a Target soon before all this cute stuff is gone!

2. A Man Called Ove

This book was recommended to me by several people and it’s a winner so far! It took me a few chapters to get into it, but now it’s hard to put down! If you need a new read, check it out.

3. Live Plants

When I went by Aldi this week, I couldn’t resist this beauty to add to our space. (Along with the bulb pictured above!) I’m not a green thumb, so we’ll see how long it lasts! 😉Wish us luck!

4. Printed Wedding Pictures

Kelcy Leigh Photography sent us a few prints this week and it made me so happy. 😊 I can’t wait to put them around our house! We picked this one for the kitchen, lol. I plan to feature the amazing Kelcy and some of our wedding photos next week here on the blog!

5. inkWELL Press Planner

I’ve been using this planner for almost a month now and I’m in love. When I did my Top Planners for 2017 post I chose this one after lots of recommendations.  It is helping me stay organized, prioritize my to-do lists, and keep track of habits I want to build. It’s been wonderful and it’s beautiful!

I hope you all have an incredible weekend! Be a light wherever you are. 💕

Friday Faves Part 1

Happy Friday my friends! I hope you all had a great week and got to experience some nicer weather at least a time or two. I loved feeling the sun a little more than normal! It got me super ready for spring weather.

I thought I’d come to you and share some of my favorite things from this past week! There’s nothing like ending a busy week on a good note. 🙂

  1. Oliver Joining Our Family!!

December was a big month for the Roberts clan! Brady and I got married, and then 8 days later, Lindsay and Jarred (my sister and brother-in-law) found out they would be adopting sweet baby Oliver. Oli has been such a blessing! He’s adorable, sweet, and totally lights up the face of whoever gets to hold him. 🙂 (I mean seriously… look at him!) God has been so faithful through this process for Lindsay and Jarred and Oliver officially became theirs this past Monday. PRAISE GOD! 😀

2. New Running Shoes

For Christmas, my dad got me a gift card to purchase some new running shoes. The funny thing is, I haven’t been running much lately. 😉 This gift was the perfect way to motivate me to get back out there, and I am 95% sure I am going to use these babies to train for another half-marathon this spring. Running teaches me a lot about self-discipline, and I’m always amazed at what we can train our bodies to do when we put in the time and effort. So the question is… who wants to be my running buddy?! 😉

3. Starting the Day at the Kitchen Table

Now that Brady and I are getting into a normal-life routine, we’ve enjoyed starting our day with some coffee and God’s Word at our little kitchen table. These moments are simple, but I really love hearing from God while my husband sits across from me. It’s lovely. 🙂

4.French Press Coffee

We received a french press as a wedding present and it has been such a treat! Brady has gotten into making it for us most mornings (#myhusbandrocks) and there’s something about it that feels special!

5. Being Married for One Month!

Brady and I have officially been married a month as of this past Tuesday! I know it’s a very small amount of time compared to the life we have ahead, but it was fun to reflect on our first month of being Mr. and Mrs. and all the ways we’ve already grown. It was a big jump going from long distance to marriage! I love it so much. 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead of you! And to my fellow mid-westerners, stay warm! We will doing some things around our house (hopefully unpacking the last few boxes!) and then heading to Carthage to visit Brady’s old church family. Yay!

Question of the Day:

What’s one of your favorite things from the past week?
